Look what you made her do — Taylor Swift dropped her new album “Reputation” today, and it includes a strongly worded diss track aimed at Kanye West. Oh, and today just happens to be the 10th anniversary of his mom’s death.

The song, “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” pretty much summarizes her feud with the rapper. In one verse she sings, “It was so nice being friends again / There I was giving you a second chance,” obviously referring to their reconciliation following the 2009 VMAs. “But then you stabbed / my back while shaking my hand / And therein lies the issue / Friends don’t try to trick you / Get you on the phone and mind-twist you / And so I took an axe to a mended fence,” she continued, alluding to that phone call that was leaked by Kim Kardashian. She even alludes to his estranged friendship with JAY Z on the track — confirming her transition into a full-blown snake.

Fans of Kanye will remember that in 2007, Donda, Kanye’s mother, passed away following complications from a plastic surgery procedure. And if you know Yeezy at all, you know he loves his mother more than anyone loves anything (just listen to his hit “Hey Mama” and try not to cry).

It’s unclear as to whether or not Taylor knew this date had such importance to her nemesis, but Yeezy fans everywhere know that much of Kanye’s emotional turmoil stems from the fact that he feels solely responsible for his mother’s death. Back in 2015, in an interview with Qmagazine, Ye opened up about the guilt he had. “If I had never moved to L.A. she’d be alive,” he said at the time. “I don’t want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears.”

Whether or not this is just a sad coincidence, Twitter called out Taylor big time when the news first broke. “[You] all better not support Taylor’s new Kanye diss track which is coming out on his mothers 10 year death anniversary. To the day,” one person wrote, while another added, “Taylor Swift is really dropping her album on the ten year anniversary of Donda West’s death. I never thought someone could stoop so low.”

Of course, Kanye is famous for honoring English professor turned momager Donda. From his hit album 808s and Heartbreak to his single “Only One” to his Donda-themed merch, Yeezy has been paying respect to his mother for the near decade she’s been gone.

From the beginning, Kim was worried about how Taylor would come for her hubby. An insider told Hollywood Life, “One of the few people out there that is not very excited for Taylor Swift’s upcoming music is Kim Kardashian. She feels that she will be attacked along with Kanye in a future song over their past differences and she doesn’t want to deal with the fallout of a Taylor Swift song and what that does to people. She doesn’t want to be the focus of anything Taylor related, she hopes that her and Kanye dodge a bullet and Taylor ends up talking about others instead.”

Their infamous feud began back in 2009 when a 19-year-old Taylor was at the MTV Video Music Awards, accepting the Best Female Video for ‘You Belong with Me.’ During her sweet acceptance speech, Kanye jumped up on the stage and grabbed the mic, interrupting with words that will forever go down in history: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

Although he has since apologized and they seemed to bury the hatchet — even discussing collaborating together — their drama was reignited last year when Kanye debuted a new track by the name of “Famous”, and its lyrics included the following: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b—h famous.” According to the Kardashian/West clan, T-Swift gave them the go-ahead on releasing the song with those lyrics, but according to Taylor, that was never the agreement.
