Nearly eight years after her father’s death, Paris Jackson is opening up about what it’s like to be the King of Pop’s daughter.

The 18-year-old graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar and revealed details about her childhood as the only girl in the family — admitting that Michael Jackson gave her a little more attention because she was his only daughter.

“I wasn’t around a lot of other girls. When I was a kid, I was with my dad and my two brothers [Prince Jackson, 20, and Blanket Jackson, 15],” Paris shared. “Growing up, I was treated as the favorite because I was the only girl. I was the princess; I was perfect in my dad’s eyes.”

She revealed that her dad was very protective of his children — which is why she was homeschooled until the age of 12. But after his death in 2009, the kids felt like they were thrown into the spotlight — which Michael tried to shield them from.

Despite her sheltered upbringing, the blonde beauty is currently pursuing a career in modeling and acting — she just landed a role on the FOX musical drama Star — and Paris explained that she wants to use her fame to make a positive impact.

“It’s a feeling of doing something important, that actually matters, that’s going to impact people,” Paris said. “Plenty of times I’ve thought about not doing anything in the public eye and having my own private life. Then I started seeing how everything in the world is going. And I feel like each year it’s getting worse.”
