Well, that’s one way to distract from the controversy!
Kendall Jenner is in the midst of her second controversy this month — and she responded by posting a photo of her boobs on Instagram! The 21-year-old model helped to promote the Fyre Festival — which was set to take place on a private island in the Bahamas over the weekend but the music festival never actually happened due to poor planning. Instead of addressing the scandal, Kendall chose to pose topless.
“Playing dress up,” she wrote in the caption of a mirror selfie, wearing only jeans and high boots.
Even though Kendall wasn’t directly affiliated with the festival or its owners — which are hip-hop star Ja Rule and entrepreneur Billy McFarland — she did promote the event to her 80 million followers. In several since-deleted Instagram posts back in December and January, Kendall announced that artists from her brother-in-law Kanye West’s record label G.O.O.D. Music would be headlining the two-weekend fest. She also urged her fans to buy tickets to the festival — which started at around $1600 per person — by offering them her own personalized promo code.
Fans were promised a tropical Coachella-esque weekend filled with musical performances, after parties and activities like snorkeling and jet skiing — but when they arrived, they quickly learned that there would be no performances and attendees were stranded on the island, left to sleep in tents with little food and water, according to People.
But Kendall isn’t the only model who is under fire for promoting the ill-fated festival. Her pal Bella Hadid is also taking heat from fans, and the 20-year-old took to Twitter to release a statement apologizing for her involvement in the fiasco.
“I feel so sorry and badly,” she wrote in her note. “I hope everyone is safe and back with their families.”
