A source tells E! News that, as has been speculated, Gomez was served in connection with the Jose Duran case, the paparazzo who is suing Bieber for allegedly attacking him in the parking lot of The Commons, a posh outdoor shopping mall in Calabasas, Calif.—in front of the pop star’s then-girlfriend—in May 2012.
“Selena has been ordered to appear on April 23, 2014, to be deposed in Los Angeles,” the source exclusively confirms.
We’re told that Selena will be questioned about “anything she observed before, during, and after the May 2012 incident with Duran and Bieber.”
The “Come and Get It” singer, who spent time with Bieber in Texas earlier this month, will also be asked to answer questions about anything she may have heard about the incident after it occurred.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department investigated the fight at the time but opted not to file criminal charges against anyone involved. Duran filed a civil suit last June.
Some of the other topics on the table include her “relationship with Justin, then and now,” “if she ever witnessed any use of Justin taking controlled substances” and “if she had seen any episodes of violence or anger involving Justin,” the source added.
Additionally, Gomez will be asked about “conversations she had with Justin concerning the Duran episode and any other legal proceedings.”
And just because this case is separate from the lawsuit Bieber is facing in Miami, Gomez will also be questioned about his now-infamous deposition in Florida, the one he walked out on when the plaintiff’s lawyer asked him about his ex.
The insider says that Bieber is also expected to be subpoenaed for deposition in the Duran case in about two to three months and they intend to videotape Gomez’s deposition.Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
