Selena Gomez, 21, has been reinventing herself lately and we love it! Selena was spotted in Los Angeles, California on March 5 looking refreshed! The Disney princess decided to ditch her dark hair — but not completely. She has gone for an ombre look and pulls it off without a doubt! We love it! Kyle White of the Oscar Blandi Salon in New York City talks about Selena’s brilliant color choice and how you can copy the color below.
Kyle tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY:
“Selena’s color is a great example of how the new ombré works so beautifully on dark brunettes, and why we should all stop thinking of this type of color as a trend.
We should realize that darker roots with a gradual progression of lightness at the ends is something that happens in nature all the time.
When done the right way, it’s a seasonal staple in the same way that regular highlights are. Dark brunettes look so great with this color because you get the illuminating effects of highlights on the ends but because the lightest pieces are not on your face, you never wind up feeling or looking washed out.
Ask your colorist for ombré highlights that begin at the cheekbones and progress to the ends. The highlight color should begin as an iced tea and blend into a iced latte at the tips of the hair. The final step should be a cool glaze to neutralize any unwanted brassy tones and seal the cuticle tight for maximum shine.”Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
