Lovato, who is sober after seeking treatment several years ago for personal issues, has nothing but kind words for the “Timber” singer’s brave decision to get help.
“Yeah, I wish her the absolute best and I think she is doing a really great thing for herself,” the former X Factor judge said during a recent pre-Grammys interview. “It’s really great when you take time out of a schedule that everybody wants you. There are so many things, you work so hard and then you kind of forget about yourself, and you don’t really get to treat the things that everyone has like stress. You just kind of throw yourself into work.”
Lovato continued, “When I took that experience, I needed it to live. It taught me a lot and it helped me a ton. I wish her the absolute best. She’s a really sweet girl and she’s going to be fine.”
Ke$ha entered rehab earlier this month just a few days after New Year’s. She’s currently at Timberline Knolls Centre outside Chicago, the same treatment facility that Lovato previously stayed at while dealing with eating disorder and other issues.
On Jan. 3, Ke$ha told E! News in a statement, “I’m a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard to practice. I’ll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder…to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”
Just last week, Ke$ha returned to Twitter to share a special message with fans, writing, “hey It’s Kesha from treatment. I just wanted to say that this is really hard and necessary work. I’m grateful for all the love and support…i couldnt do this without you.”Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
