2014 Sundance TIn Type Portraits - Kristen StewartForget Flashback Friday—these photos are taking us back to the 19th century.

Kristen StewartAnne Hathaway and a number of other famous faces posed for old-fashioned tintype portraits while attending the recent 2014 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Meticulously shot by Victoria Will, who has photographed the festival for years, the photos show the stunning celebs in a never-before-seen setting as Will experiments with the photography style, which rose to prominence during the 1860s and 1870s.

Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Banks are also among the gorgeous gals who posed for the tintype photos, which are made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of iron coated with a dark lacquer or enamel.

The stunning shots also appeared in Esquire magazine, and Will opened up about the complex photography process to the publication.

“A year ago, I had my tintype portrait made at the Photoville festival in Brooklyn by the Penumbra Foundation,” she said. “And since that moment I have been intrigued by wet plate work, you might even say obsessed. I am fascinated by the slow process, the finicky nature of the chemistry, and the beauty in each unpredictable result.”

“There is something really special in each wet plate being one of a kind,” Will added. “It’s incredibly honest.”

Each individual portrait is indeed exceptionally unique, including the shot of 15-year-old Elle Fanning, who was also featured 1860s-style collection.

The 2014 Sundance Film Festival kicked off on Thursday, Jan. 16, and will come to a close on Monday, Jan. 26, after a number of stars premiere their new flicks.

Kristen Stewart chatted with E! News about her most recent drama Camp X-Ray, in which the Twilight star plays an army guard stationed at Guantanamo Bay who befriends a prisoner (Peyman Moaadi) who has been there for eight years.

“I spent a few days with a couple of Marines that really put me through the ringer,” Robert Pattinson‘s former flame said on Friday, Jan. 17, at the premiere of the Peter Sattler-directed film. “It was awesome. They’re great guys.”

“We wanted to represent them in the best possible way we can, and if I was remotely unauthentic, I would die,” she added. “I would hate that. We did everything we could to keep it real.”

Hathaway, who was attending the festival to promote her film Song One, also dished on the rumors of a Devil Wears Prada sequel as well as her desire to have kids with hubby Adam Shulman while speaking with E!
