Michael Jackson’s Kids Speak Out For First Time About Dad After His Death

michealThe late singer’s three children spoke out, all together, sharing memories of their father for a ‘Remembering Our Michael’ documentary  – in fact, it was the first time his son Blanket has spoken out publicly about his dad since Michael’s 2009 death.

Michael Jackson‘s daughter Paris Jackson, 15, and sons Prince Michael, 16, and Blanket, 11, each shared beautiful — and sometimes truly heartbreaking — memories of their father in a new documentary honoring Michael, organized by the family’s matriarch, Katherine Jackson. Paris even revealed that Michael was never able to teach her how to moonwalk, as he had promised to do when she was old enough.

Michael’s son, Blanket, has been very private since his father’s untimely death, but he had some truly touching memories of his dad that he was able to share. “Sometimes I would go in his room and watch videos of him dancing,” Blanket said of looking up to his dad’s talent.

He also said that his love of animals and conservation efforts comes directly from growing up around exotic pets at Neverland Ranch. “There’s a lot of animals being killed from like poachers and stuff, so I want to help, like, endangered species of animals,” he explained to ABC News of his new mission.

Paris Jackson: My Dad Promised To Teach Me How To Moonwalk

Paris is also featured in the film, shown before her summer 2013 hospitalization following an alleged suicide attempt. She revealed that her dad had an important promise to her that he was never able to fulfill. “He promised he would teach me how to moonwalk — never got around to it,” she said of Michael’s iconic dance move. “I really hope his legacy lives on forever. I will never forget him ever. He was amazing.”

Prince Jackson: Michael Jackson Was Always Just ‘Daddy’

Prince explained that growing up with the King of Pop was just natural for him. “It took me till I was like six years old to learn that his name was Michael Jackson, because he was always daddy to me,” Prince said on the film. “He wanted us to always be, like, what we wanted to be, just be greater at it than anybody else has ever been.” How sweet!
