The 31-year-old artist found himself the victim of a death hoax on Monday, Dec. 16, when a video titled “RIP Lil Wayne, Rapper Found Dead” began making its way around Facebook and other social media sites.
According to Spin, the video played off the fact that Lil Wayne is an epileptic, claiming the rapper died after suffering a seizure.
And while the rapper is alive and well, it’s hard to say if the same can be said for some people’s computers.
After all, the video requires users to share it on Facebook before watching it, which is a known template used to create viruses.
Meanwhile, and proof that he is indeed still with us, Lil Wayne can be heard on Chris Brown‘s new song, “Loyal.” The track is expected to be featured on Breezy’s upcoming album, X.
Speaking of Brown, a judge revoked the R&B star’s probation on Monday, Dec. 16, in light of his October arrest for alleged assault in Washington, D.C. He was ordered to remain in the treatment facility where he’s been living and continue to complete the 24 hours of community service per week that’s required of him, take his prescription meds and abstain from marijuana (including the medical kind).
The Grammy winner, who was sentenced to five years of probation in August 2009 after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna earlier that year, is about one-third of the way through a court-ordered three-month stay in rehab.Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
