Paul Walker’s Close Friend Opens Up About How the Fast and the Furious Star Wanted to Be Remembered

Published on December 3, 2013 by   ·   No Comments friends and family try their best to process the devastating news of Paul Walker‘s death, a few people closest to the actor are coming forward to pay tribute.

Jesse Brisendine, one of the fallen actor’s closest pals, opens up to E! News about his role as a father, how he dealt with fame and what Paul loved the most.

“Paul was a caring and sensitive person…Paul really has one of the kindest hearts of any person I have ever known,” Jesse, who last saw the Fast and the Furious actor ten days ago, told us.

“He struggled a lot of times with the fame because he felt sometimes it shielded people from seeing who he really was. People would do anything for the people he loved.”

Jesse also shared that the last time he’d heard from Paul was on Thanksgiving, when he received a text message from the star that read “I am thankful for you.”

The 40-year-old was said to be working on the relationship he had with his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, around the time of his passing.

“The last couple of years he really grew into the role of a dad… he went through all those things dads go through. He was stressed, he was worried, and he was anxious. There were times he was so excited about the relationship.”

Jesse added, “He had this thing where he would have Meadow come over and hug him and he loved doing that. He loved just loving her…[Fatherhood] was something you could just tell was lighting him up. He was having a blast being a dad. She is at that age where he could be a dad and a friend at the same time, he was really digging that.”

And aside from his family, Paul had an undeniable passion for cars (similar to his onscreen character).

“I had never heard him talk about a time in his life when he didn’t love [cars],” he told us.

Jesse and Paul traveled all around the world together throughout their friendship. From charity trips in Haiti, to trips to the Amsterdam Zoo, the two friends remained close despite the actor’s hectic schedule.

“One of the most important things to him is to create space and create opportunities and memories with his friends and his family, the people he loves most,” Jesse said.

He even recalled a time when Paul mentioned what he would want to be remembered for.

“Paul said that he would want ‘He was a good guy and a kind person’ written on his tombstone. That was so simple, but that was Paul. The simple things really mattered to him most.”rs_560x415-131202143022-1024.Paul-Walker-Friends-3-jmd-120213_copy rs_560x415-131202143026-1024.Paul-Walker-Friends-2-jmd-120213_copy rs_560x415-131202143029-1024.Paul-Walker-Friends-jmd-120213_copyFollow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
