The Duke of Cambridge was on hand at the organization’s London headquarters on Monday, Nov. 18, to launch the “Give Something Back” campaign, an initiative designed to get professionals within the film, television and gaming industries to share their knowledge with new talent via mentoring, scholarships, guest lectures and summer work placements.
“Today more than ever, young people and career starters need nurture and support to achieve their potential and to succeed,” William said, according to Variety. “This includes the chance to learn from and work side-by-side with the best in the business.”
He added, “‘Give Something Back’ is a special opportunity for our supremely talented professionals to offer a small amount of their time or money to contribute to BAFTA’s learning program.”
The new dad is definitely keeping himself busy this week. In addition to today’s event, the Duke will head to Northern England on Friday for three separate appearances.
While there, he will visit the Centrepoint’s homeless young charity center in Sunderland, will appear for the opening of the Haven Point leisure center in South Shields and will participate in a monthly Diana Award Inspire Day training workshop where he’ll meet with 30 teenagers.
The Diana Award was set up in memory of his mother, Princess Diana, and her belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better. Each month, the Diana Awards host training events, which inspire, challenge and empower young people into social action.Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
