Prince Harry Celebrates Poppy Day by Honoring Fallen Military Servicemen and Women—See the Pics

The 29-year-old royal attended a special Field of Remembrance event at Westminster Abbey in London today in honor of the British initiative Poppy Day, which helps raise money for the British Royal Legion.

Looking regal in his Household Cavalry garb and beret, Harry was all smiles while greeting military men and women for about an hour. During the ceremony, Harry participated in a two-minute moment of silence and also planted a cross in memory of their fallen servicemen and women on a poppy-covered shrine.

Also in attendance was Harry’s grandfatherPrince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The goal of this Poppy Day charity is to raise 1 million pounds ($1.69 million) to support the armed forces members and their families.

Earlier today, Prince William and Kate Middleton also stepped out (sans babyPrince George) also hit a London Poppy Day event to help raise awareness for the cause. Kate, who gave birth just four months ago, looks gorgeous and very thin in a red L.L. Bennett jacket.

Kate and William also took a ride along the 1960s Routemaster bus with TV personality Barbara Windsor and @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
