It seems Cameron Diaz was forced to re-record her lines for the recent flop The Counselor because the actress originally spoke “with a full-on Rihanna-style accent,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apparently, studio executives, while watching the film prior to its release, completely disliked it and insisted on the change.

Mind you, the powers-that-be didn’t have a problem with Diaz’s now-infamous scene in which her character removes her panties, straddles a Ferrari and grinds up against the windshield. But, hey, to each his own, right?

That scene, and the decision to have Diaz dub her work later, didn’t do much to help the movie at the box office, however.

It opened to only $3.2 million last month.

A bit surprising, of course, seeing how the Ridley Scott-directed thriller featured an all-star cast that included not only Diaz, but Michael FassbenderPenélope CruzJavier Bardem and Brad Pitt as well.

Diaz is currently shooting the new movie adaptation of Annie, in which she both sings and dances.

We’re assuming not like Rihanna.Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
