Kate Middleton christened the Royal Princess on June 13 (her final solo public appearance before giving birth to Georgie July 22). The duchess’ godship (yes, that’s what we’re calling it) embarked on a preview cruise on Sunday, Oct. 27, and as Captain Fred Draper told E! News exclusively, having Harry’s future wife as the godmother of a ship “sounds like an excellent idea!”
Princess Cruises President and CEO Alan Buckelew agreed, joking that he’d urge Harry “to get a move on” with his proposal.
But wait—how is it that the royal family is connected to a luxury cruise liner? A chairman of Princess Cruises is a Lord, Buckelew explained, noting that this individual was “a major organizer” of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations this summer.
So, this regal cruiser reached out to Prince William to see what he thought about his wife following in his mother’s footsteps. (Princess Diana was the godmother of the original Princess Royal in 1984.) William “thought it was a great idea,” and Kate clearly did, too!
“I think she was just as excited as we were,” Buckelew said. “And I didn’t think that was possible!”
Captain Draper, who gave the duchess a tour of the Princess Royal during her christening visit, praised Kate as being “not just a beautiful lady, but a beautiful person.”
That, she most definitely is, and it certainly seems like [future] Princess Cressy is lovely inside and out, too. And just think, a ring from Harry will be just the beginning—then comes a crown and a cruise ship!Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
