The American Idol runner-up turned singing superstar will be making his Glee debut when the Fox series returns from its baseball hiatus on Thursday, Nov. 7, and guess what? He covers Lady Gaga‘s “Marry the Night”! And guess what else? You can listen to it right here, right now!

“Got a surprise for ya: check out my version of @ladygaga’s Marry the Night from my upcoming debut on @GLEEonFOX!” he tweeted.

Lambert shows off his powerhouse vocals in the pop hit cover, proving that he can definitely hold his own when he teams up with the Gleeks and reassuring viewers that there will be some great musical entertainment this season.

Lambert’s character, who is named Elliot “Starchild,” is auditioning for Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) band, and it looks like he’ll have a duet with Santana (Naya Rivera), which, personally, is a song we absolutely cannot wait to hear.

News that the eyeliner applying extraordinaire was joining the cast for season five first broke in July. Glee boss Ryan Murphy tweeted, “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.”

“I’m so excited!! 😉 ” Lambert added, retweeting Murphy’s message.
