The event marks the day, Oct. 26, 1863, when a group of men representing a dozen London and suburban clubs met at the Freemason’s Tavern in London, to draw up the rules of a sport that went on to become one of the most popular in the world.
The momentous anniversary celebration was held where the Football Association was founded.
