But Mr. Christ reassuringly told Kanye, “I didn’t come here to make bad people feel good. I came here to make dead people alive—to show people the light.”
“That’s all I need from you is to show people the light—the light of truth in you,” J.C. concluded, then walked away, leaving a stunned Kanye standing in silence. The rapper dropped to his knees in awe, then launched into a performance of “Jesus Walks.”
This isn’t the first time Kanye’s compared himself to Jesus, and it probably won’t be the last. He explained to Jimmy Kimmel during their recent interview, “..when I compare myself to Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Howard Hughes, David Stern, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Jesus…these are my heroes. This is the type of impact I want to make on the earth.”
“Taste, culture, art, just the quality of life,” he added, “this is what I’m here to do.”
