After Liam Hemsworth dissed Miley Cyrus hard by hooking up with Eiza Gonzalez just one day after he and Miley announced their breakup, the singer’s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 5 looked like it was going to be the perfect place for Miley to fight back and get a few vicious shots in on Liam. So why did she ultimately decide to hold back?
Admirably, Miley resolved to take the high road, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “She thought it wouldn’t be classy at the end of the day to talk about Liam and left him out it,” the source says.
The “We Can’t Stop” singer was so close to hurling a flurry of disses at Liam though. “Her monologue was originally longer but as we all saw they shortened it immensely. It was going to have all those jokes,” the source says.
As we saw during Miley’s feud with Sinead O’Connor, she isn’t exactly the greatest at turning the other cheek, so it obviously took a lot of will power for her to withhold from dissing her ex. But doing so was definitely the mature thing to do, so we’re proud of Miley.
Even without any Liam jokes, Miley had a great night as the host and musical guest of SNL. Not only did she film a funny fake sex tape, make fun of herself, and absolutely destroy her performances of “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop,” but Miley and the SNL cast also put together the best and most hilarious takedown of the government shutdown yet — a remix of her “We Can’t Stop” video called “We Did Stop.”Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
