“She’s doing good,” Jon Voight told People on Monday, Aug. 26, at the premiere of The Getaway in L.A.
Voight, who was estranged from Jolie for several years in the past, said his 38-year-old daughter is “getting ready to do her film [Unbroken], to direct her film.” The movie, based on the true story of an Olympic athlete captured during World War II and forced to live in Japanese POW camps, begins filming in October.
Brad Pitts love hasn’t only been focusing on work and her own family, though. The activist released a statement to E! News Friday, Aug. 23, on the Syrian Crisis. “Thousands of innocent young boys and girls have lost their lives in horrific circumstances, including in recent attacks near Damascus. And now one million Syrian children are struggling to survive as refugees in heart-breaking conditions,” she said. She also urged world leaders to take action, saying, “The international community must not look away from Syria, they must renew the search for peace with urgency and determination.”
Props to Jolie for using her fame to draw attention to the issues that really need a spotlight.
