Amanda Bynes’ Parents: Our Daughter Poses a Threat to Herself, “Has Profound Issues” With Body Image and Plastic Surgery

Published on July 26, 2013 by   ·   No Comments Bynes‘ parents Lynn and Rick failed to secure a conservatorship over their daughter on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of their battle.

Both parents of the 27-year-old appeared in a court Friday morning to ask that they be appointed temporary conservators over their daughter’s financial and personal affairs.

According to a conservator petition filed in Ventura County, they claim that Amanda has $3.3 million in assets and explain why they are worried for their daughter’s safety.

In the declaration they state, “We are deeply concerned that Amanda poses a substantial risk to herself, to others and to property based on recent events in her life.

“When we asked her about how she arrived (since she has no driver’s license or other identification) she said she ‘cabbed it.’ We do not know how she actually traveled from New York to California. We also do not know where she had been staying prior to her psychiatric hold as she has no residence in California. We believe she is essentially homeless.”

Her worried parents also touched upon her financial woes, claiming that she’s been spending an alarming amount of money in a short period of time.

“We are informed and believe that a substantial amount of money is being used to pay for marijuana and other illegal substances, and possible for plastic surgery,” the declaration added.

The court documents say that she’s written “approximately $63,000 in checks…between the period of May 3, 2013 and July 19, 2013.”

Her family has also taken notice of her Twitter rants as of late.

“Amanda has verbally assaulted several people, including family members through her verified Twitter account,” they said in the court documents. “She has called us “ugly” on several occasions…Based on the forgoing, we believe that a conservatorship is necessary at this time to protect Amanda’s person and estate.”

Judge Glen Reiser ruled in the Ventura court this morning that he would like to meet with Amanda on Aug. 9 prior to making any decisions about a conservatorship.

“This conservatee at some point needs to be here,” the judge said. “I need to have a dialogue with the proposed conservatee to get a gauge, I have every expectation that she will be here.”

Both of Amanda’s parents were present in court this morning to hear the judge’s latest rulings on the matter.

The judge also explained that before the hearing in two weeks, he would like Amanda to get notice that these conservatorship proceedings are taking place. Amanda’s parents’ attorney, Tamara Arminak, told the judge that at this point Amanda is unaware of the hearings and that the facility she’s currently being detained in had not allowed them to serve her with the court Bynes Manhattan Criminal Court Appearance - July 9, 2013Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
