UPDATE: Chris Brown was in court this afternoon in regards to his possible probation violation. Judge James Brandlin ruled to revoke the singer’s probation and set the next hearing for Aug. 18 to give both sides time to reach a possible agreement.
Should no agreement be made, the judge said he would set an actual probation violation hearing.
Brown’s mother and other family members were in court to support him.
Brown’s legal woes aren’t behind him just yet.
The singer had a court hearing this morning in Van Nuys, Calif., regarding his hit-and-run charge following a May car accident.
However, not much progress occurred during the hearing on the misdemeanor charge. The arraignment was postponed until July 23.
Brown spoke out about the matter at hand via Twitter, saying, “I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run.”
“I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C’mon!!” he added.
Brown also gave a special shout-out to fans who’ve stuck by his side throughout his career.
“Love you Team Breezy,” he said. “I hope people can actually see the truth.”
There have been discussions between the victim and Brown’s camp regarding a financial settlement, but nothing has been finalized as of yet, and the Los Angeles City Attorney is still moving forward with the case.
The biggest revelation stemming from today’s hearing was that the DA filed a motion to remove Brown’s probation.
Back on June 25, the City Attorney’s office charged the “Fine China” singer with two criminal charges, hit-and-run as well as driving without a valid license.
The charges stem from an incident back on May 21 where Brown hit another car and allegedly refused to give his driver’s license number and then left the scene.
Brown faces a maximum punishment of six months in jail and $1,000 fine for each offense.
He’s been extremely vocal on Twitter about this particular case. Back in June, he went on a Twitter rant claiming his innocence and frustration.
“I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.”
“She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures,” he added at the time.
Brown has an afternoon hearing today as well regarding probation violation, which he is required to be in attendance for. More on that court appearance to come.Follow @Infocelebrity on Twitter!
